SI or Not? The human vs SI image game

Ten images, one at a time. Decide in a few seconds: generated by SI (AI) or a real photo? Points for correct answers, bonuses for speed and streaks. Then compare with everyone else. Prefer words? Try the text game: human or SI writing?

Round of 10 images

How sharp is your eye?

  • +100per correct answer
  • +50max speed bonus
  • +20per streak step

Keyboard: A or ← for SI, R or → for real. 33 images in the bank.

Why a game?

Detectors are imperfect, and so are we. Playing a few rounds is the fastest way to calibrate your own eye: you learn which details give SI (AI) images away and, just as important, how often a perfectly ordinary real photo "feels" fake. Read our guide to spotting SI images first if you want an edge, then check any picture you are unsure about with the SI image detector. Suspicious caption? Paste it into the SI text detector.

Every real photo in the bank is credited to its author and licence; every SI image was generated for this game and is labelled as such.

Real photographs come from Wikimedia Commons and are in the public domain or under CC0. They were cropped, resized and re-encoded exactly like the SI images, so file details give nothing away. SI images were generated with ChatGPT for this game.
